Cultural Consultancy Services

Sensitivity reads for Books, Film, TV, Games & Advertising

Cultural consultants who help you create with care, confidence and cultural integrity.

Our Approach:

We provide ethical cultural consultancy for the creative industries through a trusted network of specialist consultants, offering nuanced guidance grounded in historical knowledge, cultural context, and lived experience.

What does a cultural consultant actually do?

A cultural consultant brings lived experience, research expertise and cultural literacy into your creative process. We act as an informed, trusted partner – not a gatekeeper, not a blocker, and never a moral scold.

We’ll help you to:

  • Identify potential misrepresentation, stereotyping or the potential for offence

  • Flag unconscious bias and harmful tropes

  • Protect cultural histories, identities and nuance from erasure

  • Ensure language, behaviour, design and context feel authentic

  • Support your team emotionally and creatively through sensitive material

We often describe ourselves as part cultural consultancy, part safety net, part sanity check. Many authors tell us the first word they feel after working with a cultural consultant is relief.

Helping you avoid stereotypes, inaccuracies, and unconscious bias in your projects

Sensitivity readers and sensitivity checking

We offer confidential cultural reading and sensitivity checking across books, book covers, scripts, video game chracters, illustrations, designs, advertising and visual culture.

Our sensitivity readers cover, among others:

  • Race and racism

  • Fetishisation and cultural erasure

  • Mixed heritage and diaspora experiences

  • Mental health, trauma and PTSD

Many clients use us as both a sensitivity checker and cultural consultant, ensuring depth rather than box-ticking.

Increasingly, publishers and studios refer to cultural consultants as an integral part of the legal read, someone who helps mitigate reputational, ethical and commercial risk.

This offers protection, clarity and accountability at every stage of production.

Why Us?

Who are we?

Good Form was founded by two women of colour who saw a a gap in how cultural work was being approached. We are writers, podcasters and cultural producers who spend much of our professional lives discussing inclusivity, belonging, identity, culture, race and intersectionality.

What do we deliver on?

As cultural consultants, we combine lived experience, editorial rigour, production knowledge and a deep understanding of what audiences crave. We know what makes people fall in love with the work and equally what can give them the ick.

What makes us different?

For us, these are lived realities, creative questions and professional responsibilities. Our consultancy grew out of years of working in media, publishing and storytelling spaces where these conversations were often missing or mishandled.
